Shots Fired 1.1
A graphic modification for Aleph One

Changes:
V1.1 - June 24, 2006 Clut variation graphics added for the S'pht shots and related changes made to the "Shots.mml" and "Transparent_Sprites.mml" script. Thanks to Gregory Smith for tracking down the source of the problems with clut replacement graphics.
V1.0 - June 19, 2006 First release.

Compatible with: Marathon 2, Marathon Infinity, and Tempus Irae
Probably compatible with other scenarios (Evil, Rubicon) provided they didn't change the shape collections replaced by this modification. This is less likely to work with M1A1 or other total conversion scenarios.

What it is:
"Shots Fired" replaces graphics for the following items: rocket and grenade contrails, flamethrower, juggnaut rocket trails, S'pht projectiles, Pfhor projectiles, Enforcer projectiles, and both types of fusion gun projectiles. Largely these replacements were made with a combination of Cinema 4D and Photoshop work. The replaced graphics are sharper, smoother, brighter, and blend more correctly on screen than the pixelated sprites included in the basic game graphics. Great care was taken to make the replacements graphically similar in shape, color and style to the originals. Needless to say, this modification requires you to be running Aleph One in OpenGL mode. I hope you enjoy these modifications as much as I had creating them.

Shots fired requires at least the June 2006 release of Aleph One. This can be downloaded from http://source.bungie.org/get/

Installation instructions
The files "Scripts/Shots.mml" and "Scripts/Transparent_Sprites.mml" go into your Aleph One scripts folder. "Transparent_Sprites.mml" replaces the script with the same name that came with Aleph One. The changes are that some of the transparency commands in the original script conflict with the texture replacement commands in "Shots.mml". The "tex" folder goes into your Aleph One folder. If you have Tempus Irae for Aleph One, the "tex/shots" folder goes into your "Tempus_Irae/tex" folder. Basically, you should end up with this structure:

Aleph One
   >Scripts
        shots.mml
        otherstuff.mml
        etc.
   >tex
        >shots
        etc.
    Aleph One
    Map.sceA
    etc.
